Greg McElroy Still Receiving Interest

The recruiting race for Greg McElroy, the quarterback for the Southlake Carroll 5-A state champions, is heating up. Despite being committed to Texas Tech, Alabama and Nebraska have begun recruiting the standout quarterback and may give the Red Raiders some stiff competition. Raiderpower.com got in touch with McElroy to get an update on his commitment to Tech.

Greg McElroy explained that both Nebraska and Alabama contacted him first and that, while he is willing to take a look at what the other schools have to offer, "Texas Tech is where I want to go." Offensive coordinator/QB coach Jay Norville is heading up Nebraska's recruitment efforts, while Alabama's offensive coordinator/QB coach Dave Rader and offensive line coach Bob Connelly are in charge of McElroy's recruiting.

Greg plans on taking his official visit to Tech after the first of the year and praised the Red Raider's coaches and tradition. While McElroy is enjoying the attention from other football programs, he reassured Raiderpower.com, "I am firmly committed to Texas Tech."
