Texas Tech vs. Texas Preview

The Red Raiders face the 7th-ranked Texas Longhorns on ESPN's Big Monday tonight at 8:05 p.m.

It seems that Texas is the school to beat this year in Big 12 play, with their football team winning a National Championship and their very talented men's basketball team sitting at 7-1 in conference standings and 19-3 on the year.  However, the Red Raiders are itching for a little revenge against the Longhorns after being beaten 80-46 three weeks ago in Austin.

Tech is perfect in conference play at home, and with a rowdy, loud atmosphere in the United Spirit Arena and a 40 minutes of solid play, the Red Raiders may be able to pull off the upset.

Tech will obviously rely heavily upon Jarrius Jackson and Martin Zeno to continue to create offensive opportunities and play solid defense, but getting other Red Raiders involved will be key to winning the game.

The question Tech fans have been asking all season is, "Who will be the third player to step up?"  In last Saturday's victory over Missouri, the answer was forward Darryl Dora, who scored a career high 22 points, including the first 6 points of the game.

In the last meeting between the two teams, Texas shot 49% from the field and was effective in getting multiple players involved in the offense.  Texas also out-rebounded the Red Raiders 37-25.

Keys to the Game:

-Defensive Rebounding
-Solid Perimeter Defense
-3rd scorer must step up

Betting Line: Texas -10
