Brenham QB is a Hot Name

The class of 2007 in the state of Texas is a very good one for quarterbacks and one of the best in the state is Brenham gunslinger Jaret Lee. He's already picked up a couple of offers and interest from plenty of others.

"I already have offers from Houston and Sam Houston State," Jaret Lee said. "I get a lot of interest from schools like LSU, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Texas A&M and Notre Dame."

The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Lee is one of the top quarterbacks in what is an extremely deep year in the state at the position.

"I went to Texas A&M's junior day a couple of weeks ago," Lee said. "It was exciting to meet the coaches and some of the players and stuff. We watched the basketball game and got to talk to coach Fran after it was all over. He told us to come out to their night of champions."

Lee completed 233 of 347 passes, racking up 3,345 yards with 39 touchdowns and only seven touchdowns.

Some of the early speculation had Lee as a lean to Texas A&M, but as it turns out that is not the case at all.

"My top schools would be LSU, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Texas Tech, Florida and Texas," Lee said. "I am not really interested in A&M at all, it just isn't really my style of place. I really like the coaches and all, I just don't know that I would fit in there."

Lee is still not sure when he might make a decision, but he does know what he is looking for in a school.

"I might commit early, I'm not real sure," Lee said. "I just want to make sure that I am doing the right thing and I think looking around is smart. I will be looking to see if I fit in with the coaches and their offensive scheme."
