Texas Tech led 29-26 at halftime, but Baylor's second half performance was too much to handle. Aaron Bruce, going 6-7 from behind the arc, scored 25 of his 28 points in the second half. Curtis Jerrells and Tommy Swanson both added 14 points in the win.
Jon Plefka and Alan Voskuil added 10 points each in addition to Jackson's usual high-scoring performance, but it was not enough to fight off a determined Baylor Bears team. Tech's second leading scorer for the season, Martin Zeno, contributed a disappointing 5 points in 26 minutes of play.
Texas Tech is looking to win against the Texas A&M Aggies (19-7, 9-6) this Saturday to finish off the season with a .500 overall record. It won't be easy though; the Aggies are hot right now, beating the Texas Longhorns in a thriller on Wednesday night. Acie Law hit a well-defended three pointer at the buzzer, extending A&M's winning streak to six games. On January 7th, Tech lost to the Aggies 63-55 at College Station.
This will be the 112th meeting between the two teams, with Tech leading the series 60-52. Of all the games played at Texas Tech, the Red Raiders are 34-16. This final game of the regular season will air on ESPN+ at 12:30 pm.
