Texas Tech Downed by Texas A&M 75-59

The Red Raiders lost to the Aggies 75-59 at the United Spirit Arena in their final regular season game of the year.

Tech's leading scorer, Jarrius Jackson, led the team with 22 points while Martin Zeno contributed 12. Texas A&M (20-7, 10-6) extending their winning streak to seven games with this regular-season finale win.

The Red Raiders need to have a great Big 12 Tournament run to keep their hopes alive for making the NIT. This was Tech's third loss in a row; bringing their record to 14-16 overall and 6-10 in conference play. This is only the second season for Coach Knight to not have a winning record during his 40-year coaching career. The last time he coached a team with a losing record for the season was with Army in 1970-71, where they went 11-13.

Texas Tech's next stop is the Big 12 Tournament in Dallas, which begins March 9th. Last year, Texas Tech advanced to play Oklahoma State in the Big 12 Championship game at the American Airlines Arena. Ronald Ross and Jarrius Jackson scored 22 points each in the loss to then ranked No. 10 Oklahoma State 72-68, giving the Cowboys their second straight Big 12 Championship.
