Red Raiders Pick Up #1

The Red Raiders finished off last years recruiting class very strong, which catapulted them to the #17th ranked recruiting class in the country. After signing the 2006 class, the coaching staff went right back to work on the 2007 kids, and have just picked up their first committment.

Tramain Swindall, the 6'2 170 pounds receiver out of Millwood High School in Oklahoma, was in Lubbock last week to take in a few of the Red Raiders' practices. While he was in town, he had a chance to see how the team played together, take a tour of the campus, and talk with the coaches.

"I decided to commit to Texas Tech," said Tramain. "I had a great time. I really liked the atmosphere out there. Of course the offense is something that really excites me, but the overall atmosphere is what really won me over."

Tramain hasn't closed all the doors on his recruitment though. "I'm still leaving things somewhat open," he said. "We'll just see what happens."

Tramain currently has scholarship offers from Texas Tech, Kansas State, Missouri, and Kansas.
