Red Raiders Pick Up Committment #2

Texas Tech has has picked up their second committment for the class of 2007 from Blake Emert out of Sachse High School. We caught up with Sachse head coach Mark Behrens to talk about the Red Raiders' newest committment.

Some players are satisfied with getting by on their talent alone, but that is not the case with Blake Emert. The 6'5 270 pound lineman out of Sachse HS in Garland, TX continues to push himself year in and year out to improve at the game he loves.

"Blake is a hard worker who has improved every year," said Sachse head coach Mark Behrens. "He has good feet and understands leverage and how to use it to his advantage."

Blake wanted to go to a school where he felt he could be the most productive. The Red Raiders aerial assault provides the opportunity for linemen who excel at pass blocking to come in and make a huge difference.

"He chose Tech because they have similar offense to what we run here at Sachse," said Coach Behrens. "He's a big kid who works hard and he has the frame to put on some additional weight. Texas Tech is a school that fits his talents well."

If you have never heard of Sachse High School, it may be because they haven't been around for too long. "We have only played two varsity seasons here at Sachse," said Coach Behrens. "We're a new school and we play in a tough district, so we have to work really hard to compete at this high level."

Blake is the Red Raiders 2nd commitment of the 2007 class.
