#1 WR in Texas has the Red Raiders in top 5

Which Texas wideout is listing his top 5 as USC, Miami, Oklahoma, LSU, and Texas Tech? Find out inside.

USC didn't have much luck when visiting wide receiver Terrance Toliver (6-5, 182, 4.4) at Hempstead High because he was out of town , but the Trojans did get through to him on the phone today(May 15). Toliver said he spoke to Carroll for about an hour.

"Pete Carroll said he likes my game, the way I play and he likes my attitude," Toliver said. "Even though he hasn't met me, he's heard a lot about me. They want me to visit this summer, but I'm not sure I'll be able too. I will take an official visit to USC during the season."

Just about everyone who follows recruiting has heard a lot about Terrance Toliver, and the fans of five schools will continue to learn more about him as the recruiting process plays out.

"I have a top five, but they're aren't in order though," Toliver said. "Miami, USC, Oklahoma, LSU and Texas Tech.

Toliver briefly commented on his top five schools.

USC: "They've been national champions and they're a real good program," Toliver said. "They have Dwayne Jarrett who I play a lot like and I like they way USC uses its wide receivers."

Miami: "Miami has a good history and everything. Their coach came by a couple weeks ago and I talked to him, and he seemed like a real good guy. I just really want to go visit because everyone is telling me Miami is nice, so I want to go visit to check it out for myself."

Oklahoma: "I talked with two of their coaches when they came by and I like the way they play--and their fans and everything. I haven't been up there either, so I'd like to visit."

LSU: "I talked to Coach Porter and Les Miles, and basically they are good people. Plus my uncle, Harvey Williams, went there."

Texas Tech: "Texas Tech is a school that throws the ball all over the place and a good place for a wide receiver."

Toliver was asked if his top five list was solid and he said it is at the moment, but there is the possibility it could change during the summer.

"If I go on some unofficial visits things might change," Toliver said. "I'll try and get up to Nebraska sometime during the summer to check out the campus and everything. I'll also try and get to Arizona, LSU and Florida."

Toliver said he attended a Nike Camp at College Station and had a 4.4 forty time. He also dominated the defensive backs and was impressed with quarterback Jarrett Lee from Brenham, Tex., a school down the road from Hempstead.

"Man, Jarrett Lee is so good," Toliver said. "He was a baseball player when I first saw him and he looked like he threw the baseball 100 miles per hour. I wish I had a quarterback like him. I thought he was already a senior.

No matter where Toliver chooses to attend college, he'll have a quarterback like Jarrett Lee throwing to him.

Notes: Toliver said he'd like to commit sometime during the football season and his commitment announcement will be covered by ESPN. Last weekend Toliver won the high school state championship in the long jump with a leap of 24.5 feet.
