Witt was in Lubbock last Thursday, and after demonstrating what he can do, picked up an offer from the Red Raider coaching staff. In addition to his recent Tech offer, Witt holds offers from Baylor, Wisconsin, Purdue, Indiana, UTEP, Tulsa, and Tulane.
So far, Witt has been able to visit the campuses at Baylor, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, and Texas Tech.
Witt stated that location was not a factor at all in his decision making process for choosing a college. Since his parents are pilots, they can come see him anywhere he chooses to play his college ball. What is important to him is "the coaching staff, the offensive coordinator, the quarterbacks coach - you know, how well I get along with the staff." He also mentioned the offensive system and playing time as primary decision making factors.
Witt's ultimate goal is to make it to the NFL, so he is looking for a system where he can develop his talent to get to that level. Sounds like a perfect fit for Mike Leach and Co.
