Wednesday Practice Report

The No. 24-ranked Texas Tech Red Raiders (4-1, 1-0) practiced in shells Tuesday, continuing their preparation for Saturday's homecoming match-up against undefeated Missouri (5-0, 1-0) at Jones AT&T Stadium here in Lubbock.

Today's special teams period was devoted to kickoff and kickoff returns, with senior Keith Toogood sending kicks deep to return men Todd Walker and Shannon Woods. Toogood currently boasts a 71.8% touchback percentage and has only allowed nine returns through five games this season.

During the scout session, defensive coordinator Lyle Setencich's unit saw more of the Missouri offense that has yet to be held to less than 27 points and is averaging 33.4 points per game. Defensive end Keyunta Dawson was a force against the scout offense, tallying a sack and two tackles behind the line of scrimmage. Cornerback Antonio Huffman had a diving interception off of a deflection and safety Darcel McBath, the team leader in interceptions, added a pick as well.

During the live team action, quarterback Graham Harrell completed three of his four attempts, two of them finding the hands of receiver L.A. Reed. Linebacker Paul Williams had a sack for the second consecutive day.

The Red Raiders will practice again on Thursday, further developing the gameplan for their second conference game of the 2006 season. Saturday night's kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m. and will be broadcast nationally on TBS.
