Tech After Mississippi LB

Olive Branch High School (MS) defensive end K.J. Wright is enjoying a lot of on the field success. The Conquistadors are 7-1 with their lone loss being to South Panola High School, a team with a 53 game win streak. With Texas Tech having 3 senior LB's on the field, K.J. could be the player the Red Raiders need to help fill the void left by the departure of Stratton, Tillman, and Session.

Olive Branch High School (MS) defensive end K.J. Wright is enjoying a lot of on the field success. The Conquistadors are 7-1 with their lone loss being a 12-7 set back to South Panola High School. South Panola has won a Mississippi state record 53 games in a row. Despite the feelings of what might have been, Wright is happy with his team's play.

"We are just out there getting better," said Wright. "That was a tough loss and we had a lot of turnovers in the red zone. We have won every game since then. We are all working together as a team to keep playing well."

Wright has a handful of offers (Arkansas, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Southern Miss) and has played his cards close to the vest throughout his recruitment. He is getting calls from several interested schools including a new one.

"I am getting calls pretty much from the same schools," said Wright. "I don't have any new offers, but Tennessee says they are waiting on some video and my new ACT score before they offer. If everything works out they probably will offer me. Texas Tech called me last week for the first time. It looks like they are pretty interested too."

The talented Wright will use some of his official vists before rendering a decision, but to date has not set up any dates with prospective schools.

"I am going to wait and take my visits some time after the season," said K.J.
