Red Raiders Land RB Committment

After taking his official visit to Texas Tech over the weekend, 3-star running back Jared Flannel knew he had found his school. Despite being known for their prolific passing game, the Red Raiders have become a favorite target for running backs who see the potential the offense creates to gain yards on the ground.

When asked about how his trip to Lubbock went, Jared Flannel answered, "I committed to Tech." During his visit, it became clear that the Red Raiders were the best fit for him.

Position was of primary importance to Flannel during his recruitment. "I really like Tech because they are the only school that just wanted me for the offensive side of the ball. They only talked to me about playing running back and that's where I want to play."

Another factor in his decision was being able to contribute on offense. He especially likes Tech because "their running backs get a lot of touches per games."

Marlon Williams and Richard Jones were Jared's sponsors over the weekend, showing him around campus and helping him get more familiar with Lubbock.

He also had the chance to meet with Coach Leach and discuss how he would fit in with the team. "This was the first time I was able to sit down with Leach for an extended period of time. He's a real cool guy, very laid back."

Despite having offers from numerous other D1 schools, Jared Flannel is solid in his commitment to the Red Raiders. "I may still visit Missouri, but I haven't heard from them in a long time, so I think this is it."
