'07 RB Names His Favorite

The Red Raider coaching staff is always looking for some versatile running backs to plug into their high powered offense. Texas Tech has jumped out to an early start on the class of 2007, already landing 1 committment and looking for more. Could the next one be this well rounded running back out of Forth Worth? RaiderPower.com has the answer.

Running back Corey Pigrum of South Hills High School has started to see lot more activity on the recruiting front. Pigrum is receiving letters and calls from nearly a dozen schools.

"I am hearing a lot from UTEP, Texas Tech, TCU, Nebraska, U of H (Houston), Mississippi State and Southern Miss just started talking to me, said Corey. "There are a lot of them sending me stuff and calling. No one has offered yet."

The 5'9'', 175 pounder was recently named First Team All-District as a running back. He is being looked at by most schools as a running back or a wide receiver.

"I just sent my tapes out a few weeks ago," said Pigrum. "A lot of the schools I have been talking with have been in bowl games, so they just started getting back with me some. Now that the games are about over I am going to be calling to make sure they got my tapes."

Pigrum reports he will be grateful for the chance to play college football, but there is one school he is a bit fond of.

"I really like Texas Tech," said Corey. "I have a cousin, Brandon Williams, down there. I would like to go play with him."
