Red Raiders Land Big Committment

Texas Tech is always looking outside the state of Texas for great talent to bring into Lubbock. The Red Raider coaching staff found a gem out in Hawaii. LB/DE Sam Fehoko visited Lubbock last weekend and hosted Mike Leach and Co. in his home yesterday evening. RaiderPower caught up with Sam this afternoon and he informed us that he "wanted to be a Red Raider."

Sam Fehoko out of Honolulu, Hawaii hosted Mike Leach is in home on Tuesday night. Fehoko visited the Texas Tech campus last weekend and loved his visit. He invited Mike Leach to come see him in Hawaii to talk about playing for Texas Tech some more.

"Coach Leach came by and we had a great talk," Fehoko said. "He told me everything I wanted to hear. He was very straight forward with me and I really appreciated that."

Not only did he like what he heard, he liked it so much he gave the Texas Tech coaches a call Wednesday afternoon and tell them some great news.

"I called the Tech coaches and told them I wanted to be a Red Raider."

Sam can officially sign with the Red Raiders on Feb. 7th, National Signing Day. With only a week left, will Fehoko be looking around anymore?

"I'm done. If any other coaches call me I will just tell them I'm going to Texas Tech."

Fehoko turned down scholarship offers from Oklahoma, Arkansas, Auburn, Arizona, and Arizona State to come to Texas Tech.

The Red Raiders have experienced a flurry of commitments the past few days, as RB Aaron Crawford and WR Detron Lewis also jumped on board.

Things are starting to shape up pretty well for the red and the black.
