Georgia WR wants to be a Red Raider

WR Jimmy Eden from the Peach State wants to play for Texas Tech in the Lone Star State. Eden is a relative unknown prospect from Fairburn (Ga.) Landmark Christian High School but that is soon about to change.

Jimmy Eden is a prospect from the state of Georgia that not too many people know about at this time. But that's about to change. Eden, 5-9.5 and 172 pounds, plays wide receiver, cornerback and on special teams for Fairburn (Ga.) Landmark Christian High School. Through his junior year Eden has caught 108 passes for 1,753 yards, scored 28 touchdowns and intercepted three passes.

"I want the ball in my hands because I can make things happen," said Eden. "Defensively, I love to play man to man. I want to play my guy and see if he can get me. I prefer receiver but in all honesty I just want to play ball."

Eden doesn't have any scholarship offers at this time and just a few schools have shown interest like Maryland and Central Florida. But it's early.

"My dream is to just play college football. If I had to pick a favorite team it would be Texas Tech. I have been watching them the past few seasons and something is drawing me to them. I guess it's their offense. I just love them. I actually grew up a Florida fan because my mom went to school there. I am also looking at Alabama, Wake Forest, Troy, and Georgia Southern."

Last summer Eden camped at Alabama, Ole Miss and the Archie Manning camp. He will participate in senior camps this summer as well but he has not decided on which camps as of yet. Eden will also participate in the Kennedy/CES Combine.

Eden has very good speed and quickness. As a wide receiver he can beat you deep, take a short pass and turn it into a big play and he has the courage to go over the middle. Eden shows good concentration, body control and hands and is strong in the air.

Defensively he supports the run well and is not afraid to provide run support. In fact, he is a solid tackler that loves the big hit. Eden is strong in coverage skills and plays the ball well.

Eden is also a good special teams player so he can help out a team in all three phases of the game.

Below are highlights from Eden’s junior season.
