Staley has already been offered a scholarship by both schools, and has also been offered a scholarship by Texas Tech. Besides those three schools he has been seeing a lot of correspondence from Kansas State, Kansas, Missouri, Notre Dame and Tulsa.
It's for good reason as Staley finished last season with 1,450 yards and 21 touchdowns rushing on 200 carries. He also completed 71-of-131 passes for 1,008 yards, 15 touchdowns, and was intercepted four times as a quarterback for head coach Rafe Watkins at Guthrie.
"He is a great athlete with speed, strength, and size,"Watkins said recently. "He could help a team in a lot of places and he is one of the best that I've had a chance to coach."
Staley says the recruiting process is fine so far. "It's just a whole new experience, and I am getting used to it," said Staley. "I hadn't really thought about whether I would commit early or if I'm going to wait and take the visits. I've thought about it, but I haven't thought about it strongly."
Staley is a good student. To back up the strength that Watkins talked about, Staley has a 250-pound bench press, 355-pound squat, and has a 31-inch vertical.
