Riley Dodge attends Texas Tech junior day

Southlake Carroll has produced several division one prospects over the years and the class of 2008 is not looking to be any different. Texas Tech held their annual Junior Day this past weekend and brought in Southlake quarterback Riley Dodge. RaiderPower.com caught up with Riley to get his thoughts on his visit to Lubbock, TX.

Riley Dodge is a 6'1, 185 pound quarterback who has the versatility to play multiple positions at the collegiate level. Although Southlake Carroll High School has him playing quarterback, he could possibly end up a wide receiver at the next level.

"Some schools have talked to me about possibly playing wide receiver, but my heart is at quarterback. I may end up going somewhere and being a receiver, but I have always dreamed of playing quarterback in college."

Riley decided to make the trek over to Lubbock and take in the Red Raiders' Junior Day, which was held this past weekend.

"I had a great time," said Dodge. "I really liked the campus a lot."

With approximately 50 players coming into town for Tech's annual Junior Day, was Coach Leach able to spend some quality time with Riley?

"I was able to spend quite a bit of 1-on-1 time with Mike Leach," said Dodge. "He talked to me about how I would fit into their offense. They run a very similar offense to what we run back at Southlake."

Riley left Lubbock without an official scholarship offer, but will probably be receiving one at a later date.

If Texas Tech does happen to offer Riley in the future, what would his thoughts be about making Lubbock his college destination?

"I really enjoyed my visit to Tech. I could definitely see myself going there."

Dodge will be attending Texas' junior day next week.

Riley currently holds offers from Missouri, Tulsa, SMU, Rice, and UNT.
