Stepping Stones: Omarius Hines

Long known for producing big time running backs, Corsicana High is now turning into a wide receiver factory and Omarius Hines is the next in line for the Tigers. The Red Raiders have officially offered the 4 star wide receiver and are looking to add him to the already potent Air Raid. Scout.com caught up with Omarius to see where he stands with his recruitment.

The 6'1 183 pound WR with 4.5 speed had a monster junior season catching 62 passes for 1262 yards and an amazing 23 touchdowns. Hines huge second half of the season was a major reason the Tigers were able to rebound from a tough start and advance to the playoffs in 2006.

Omarius was named unanimous first team all-district and was also named first team all-state as a junior.

Besides starring in football Hines is also a member of the CHS basketball team and also is a long jumper on the track team. When asked about his strengths Omarius replied, "I have good hands and my speed and quickness off the line are my biggest strengths."

Omarius boasts over 20 offers, but at this time he lists Florida as his favorite. "I really like their overall athletic program," said Hines. Baylor, Kansas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech and Texas A&M have also shown interest in the Corsicana WR.

Hines who plans on attending one or two camps this summer, lists academics and campus atmosphere as main factors in determining where he lands for college.

Don't look for any decisions from the Corsicana star until after the 2007 season. "I want to first off win district and help the team make a big playoff push in 2007," replied Hines when asked what his goals for 2007 are.

With tradition and Hines' talent those goals may not be out of reach for the Tigers!
