Four-star LB Talks Recruitment

At 6'2" and 219 lbs., Alfred Dupree has caught the eye of some of the best football programs in the nation. The talented linebacker out of Dallas has scholarship offers from almost 30 schools, including heavyweights like Alabama, Florida, LSU, Michigan, Oklahoma State, and Texas Tech. Tech has been high on Dupree's radar, but with so many offers coming in, what are the chances of landing him?

Dupree, who ranks as a four-star player and top 50 in the Southwest, is very upfront about his recruitment status, stating, "I'm always changing my top 10, so it's hard to say I have a favorite.

He is currently favoring Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, LSU, Alabama, Michigan, Texas A&M, and North Texas.

Despite not having a clear favorite, Alfred knows what he's looking for in a school. "I want to fit in with the program and make sure I'll be able to get some early playing time."

Oklahoma recently rescinded their scholarship offer to Dupree. He explains, "I talked to the coaching staff at Oklahoma when David King committed to them and they told me that I no longer had a scholarship offer."

"I spoke to Coach (Bob) Stoops about it and at first I was very disheartened, but I knew that it was on a first come first serve basis from the beginning, so I understand that they were simply doing what they said they would do."

"Obviously I am disappointed because I would have liked to have Oklahoma as an option, but like I said, I knew the process," Dupree stated. "At this point I will just have to focus on other schools."

In spite of the slight setback, Dupree has made plans to attend summer camps at North Texas (June 17) and LSU (June 21). He is also considering camping in Lubbock over the summer.

He reports a 220 lb. bench press, 500 lb. squat, and 40-inch vertical.
