Gallington to visit Lubbock?

Deveric Gallington, the 6'4, 330 pound offensive lineman out of Richland Hills, has always maintained that Texas Tech is one of his top schools. We have talked with Gallington several times and there is only one school that has mentioned in every conversation, Texas Tech. With yet another school throwing themselves into the picture, are the Red Raiders still in the hunt?

Deveric Gallington seems to have a new school chasing him every time we talk with him. The most recent school to come calling is the Arizona Wildcats, who talked with him about his chance to play early.

"Arizona told me that they are going to have a lot of room for me to come in and play. Playing early is important to me and Arizona offers that."

Although Arizona has been pitching him pretty hard, the Texas Tech coaching staff is not sitting idly by.

"I spoke with Coach Leach, Coach Riley, and the offensive line coach (Coach Moore) a few days ago. The conversation went really good. They talked to me about their depth chart and how I would fit into the mix."

From our several conversations with Deveric, it appears that if Texas Tech can get him on campus, they have a very good shot of landing a commitment from the 3 star prospect. So what are Gallington's plans for making a trip up to the Llano Estacado?

"I'm going to try to come up and visit Tech soon. I know they started practice yesterday, but the coaches still said they would like me to come up. We start practice next week, so I would like to come visit before ours starts. I'm hoping for sometime this weekend."

Gallington had mentioned to RaiderPower that he would like to make a decision sometime soon, and he had even mentioned the possibility of that being as soon as this week.

"I still would like to make my decision in the next week or so, but if it takes longer that will be fine. I really want to visit the school before I commit though. I'm down to Arizona and Texas Tech."

Hopefully Mr. Gallington will be able to find time in his schedule to come visit Lubbock. We'll keep everyone posted as he tries to firm up his plans for a visit.
