On the field, Trlica is the most successful kicker in NCAA history, connecting on all 209 extra point attempts in his career. He is the second-leading scorer in school history and only the third with 300+ career points. Trlica is four field goals away from tying Bill Adams atop the career field goal list at Tech with 43. Off the field, the Friendswood, Texas, native boasts a 3.275 grade point average in accounting and finance.
To qualify, the player must be in his final year of eligibility, have a GPA of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale, demonstrate outstanding football ability as a first team player, and volunteer in the community. Trilica is one of 153 student-athletes nominated.
The NFF Awards Committee will select 15 finalists on Oct. 25. The Draddy winner will be announced at the NFF's Annual Awards Dinner Dec. 4 in New York City. The 2007 recipient will receive a $25,000 in postgraduate scholarship. More than $300,000 in scholarships will be awarded during the ceremony.
