Texas Tech still in the running for Cooper?

Keanon Cooper, a 6-foot, 195-pound, safety, from Dallas (TX) Skyline, had a tremendous senior season and he followed that up by blowing up in the Under Armour All-American Bowl in Orlando last weekend. Cooper hasn't decided on a school yet but Texas Tech is very much in the picture.

3 star safety Keanon Cooper is at the top of the wishlist for Texas Tech.

"I'm taking it easy right now, I'm not visiting any schools this weekend but I'm going to start to set up some visits here really soon," said the Dallas Skyline standout.

Which schools still have a shot at Cooper? "Wisconsin, Minnesota, Texas Tech, Miami and Michigan are the schools I'm looking at the hardest." He said.

Cooper, ranked as the No. 20 safety in the country by Scout.com, said he now favors Wisconsin, which has come back into the picture to lead slightly over Michigan, Texas Tech, Miami and Minnesota.

Was the Under Armour All-American game an eye opener for Cooper on what he can expect on the next level?

"Oh yea, he said. "You read and hear about all those guys all year long and the next thing you know, you're going head-to-head.

"Blake Ayles (USC) and Dwayne Allen (Georgia) are absolute beasts. People are definitely going to be hearing from those two guys for the next four years.

"Overall it was a great experience. We worked hard but we also were treated extremely well and we had an incredible players lounge to relax in. I'm just ready to get going on my visits now."

Cooper finished his senior season with 165 tackles, 7 caused fumbles, 4 fumble recoveries, 3 interceptions, a blocked punt and a sack.
