Williams has scholarship offers from Arizona, Baylor and Texas Tech and has received junior day invites from all three. He has also received invitations to attend junior day at North Texas and Notre Dame. Williams still isn't sure where he is headed at this point in time.
"I'm not sure. I'm going to have to get with my mom and see if we are going to make any long trips or just try to stay close," Williams said. Williams is receiving mail from schools all across the country, but Texas Tech is still showing the most interest.
"It's been the same," Williams replied when asked if the Red Raiders were still showing the most interest. "They were actually at our school today."
The junior is waiting to choose favorites until he gets a little further along in the recruiting process. "I really don't have a favorite. I'm just taking offers and seeing where this goes.
"I'm hearing from schools all over the country. Schools like OU and Notre Dame have been showing interest, and Georgia Tech has been sending a bunch of stuff," Williams said.
Williams helped lead Abilene High School to the semi-finals of the 5A state playoffs last season. He talked about that experience and what he wants to improve upon during the spring and summer months.
"The best team that's there doesn't always win. We lost. You grow up a lot when you have to play 15 weeks in a season. It takes a good team to get there, a real close team. You need to know you can trust everyone on your team," Williams said.
"Just staying in the weight room, trying not to lose my speed and just staying focused," Williams said when asked what he wanted to improve upon before the beginning of his senior year.
