Askew down to 3

After committing to Arkansas, DT Lavunce Askew seemed to be done with the recruiting process. However, with the post-season coaching changes at Arkansas, Askew decided to take a few more visits and reevaluate his decision. He has narrowed his list of favorites to 3. Did Texas Tech make the cut? Come inside to find out.

After reopening his recruitment, Lavunce Askew, a 6-2 1/2 280-pound defensive tackle from Camden, AR, visited Ole Miss.

How did his trip to Ole Miss go?

"I had a great visit," said Askew. "This is the same staff I committed to when I committed to Arkansas, so I knew a lot about them and they are a great staff. I love those guys."

Although Arkansas is still also very much in the picture, he is considering 3 programs: Texas Tech, Ole Miss, and Arkansas.

Why the indecision?

"It hurt me when these coaches left Arkansas. I was a Razorback through and through because of them and because I had been to camp there several times. When they left, it opened everything back up and now I don't know what I want to do."

Does he have a timeline for when he plans on making his final decision?

"I told Coach (Houston) Nutt I would decide in the next two or three days. I'm not leaning anywhere right now. I am going home and laying everything out and deciding when I make my mind up."

Lavunce said distance is not a factor in his decision and that he is through with his official visits.

With no clear leader, it looks like the Red Raiders, Hawgs, and Rebels will just have to wait it out to see where Askew decides to take his services.
