Texas Tech received their fifth commitment of 2008 from Darko Cohadarevic, out of Seward County Community College in Kansas. Cohadervic originally hails from Serbia.

At 6'9", 245 lbs., Cohadarevic brings some much needed size to the Red Raiders, who have struggled recently with solid inside play.

RaiderPower.com spoke with Assistant Coach Ryan Stock about how he sees Darko fitting in at Texas Tech.

Darko
Cohadarevic is the 5th committment of the
class of 2008.
"He's good and effective inside, but he can also step out and set good ball screens and knock down three pointers. He's a perfect fit for Tech's motion offense."

Darko averaged 15.1 points and 8.2 rebounds per game for the Saints, and was named MVP of the tournament after leading his team to the NJCAA Region VI tournament championship.

Coach Stock noted that there Cohadervic's stellar season has resulted in attention from quite a few basketball programs around the country.

"Big 10 schools, Missouri Valley, and other Big 12 schools were showing a lot of interest, but he chose Texas Tech because he felt like it was the best fit for him."

As for areas he needs to improve on, Stock explained, "Skill-wise he is pretty solid. He could work on ball handling a little, although he doesn't handle the ball very much because he's a big man.

"Other than that, he just needs to be sure that he doesn't get frustrated with the transition from our conference to the Big 12. He will have to realize that there will be players [in the Big 12] who are as big as he is. He is going to have to be patient and let his game come to him."

Cohadarevic joins current Texas Tech commits SG Tyree Graham, PG Nick Okorie, PF Corbin Ray, and PF Robert Lewandowski.
