Red Raiders considering an offer for Cluley?

With spring football going on, Waco Reicher Catholic (TX) athlete Kenneth Cluley is working hard in hopes of landing the right Division I offer. He has a summer agenda lined up and has named a couple of favorites. RaiderPower has the update…

After a season with solid numbers on both sides of the ball, Waco Reicher Catholic (TX) athlete Kenneth Cluley is looking for things to pick up a little in his recruitment.

"I don't have any offers right now, but Kansas, Texas Tech, and Tulsa are in my Top 3," Cluley said. "All three have mentioned that an offer may come after seeing me in camp. I know with my height that nobody is going to offer until they see me."

Cluley admits that Kansas and Texas Tech are at the top of his list. Both have looked at his film and were impressed with what they saw. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound Cluley has only been to junior day at SMU.

He had planned to attend one of the junior days in Lubbock, but because of schedule conflicts and a call to the coaches, he opted not to.

"I called the coaches at Texas Tech before I went up there and they told me that were not going to offer me [during junior day]," Cluley said. "But I am still interested in them and I hope they come and see me this spring."

With Texas Tech, Cluley said that the opportunity to play quarterback is on the table. But, because of his size, other positions may be explored as far as landing him a spot on the team.

"With Kansas and Texas Tech, they are both looking at me for two different positions," Cluley said. "If quarterback doesn't work out, they said I could play wide receiver. And that is okay with me. Both of these schools have watched my video and know that I have the talent to play either position."

For his high school, Cluley plays on both sides on the ball. As a quarterback, he threw for 2,004 yards and on the ground had another 1,660 yards for 39 total touchdowns. From the safety position, he had 86 tackles and 10 interceptions.

The Texas athlete is really looking forward to spring practice and looks forward to who will come down to see him, which will help him decide where he will camp this summer.

"I'm working hard this spring for football," Cluley said. "Judging by who comes down for spring with determine where I will visit this summer and go to camp."

Cluley said he has already registered for camps at Texas Tech and Kansas.
