"Biscuit," as Will prefers to be called, will be a three year letterman for SGP in 2008, and he'll be starting for the Warriors for the second straight season. Last year Adams caught 28 passes for 319 yards to lead SGP.
"I think my biggest strength is my ability to get open. I run good routes and get out of my breaks quickly and have good hands," said Adams, who also runs track for SGP.
This off-season Biscuit says he's looking to work on improving his speed and strength in the Warriors summer conditioning program.
Adams presently holds one offer from Air Force, but he's getting interest from TCU, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Tulsa, Central Florida and Vanderbilt. This summer Biscuit will be keeping busy attending camps at Houston, Texas Tech and Oklahoma in addition to playing seven on seven for SGP and trying to lead the Warriors to the State Tournament at Texas A&M.
When it comes time to make the decision on where to attend college, Adams says academics and campus atmosphere will play key roles for him.
As for the timetable on making a decision, Biscuit has things in perspective. "I won't rush on a decision, if the right offer comes along then that's great. If not, I am happy with waiting until after the season and then deciding," he explained.
As for the nickname "Biscuit," Will gave the story on how it came to be. "When I was playing pee-wee football I wanted to play running back, but you could only weigh 115 pounds. If you weighed over 115, you had to play on the line. So when I weighed, I weighed in at 114.5 pounds. I had to strip down to my underwear just to make sure I didn't go over 115, so my pee-wee coach told me I was a biscuit short of being a lineman, and the name stuck."
