"I talked to Coach Littrell yesterday, and he told me that Texas Tech wanted to offer me a scholarship," Swanson told us. "I was actually kind of surprised that they offered, and I'm excited. Coach Littrell told me to call Coach Moore, so I talked to him too. They are both very excited for me and just really want me to come to Tech."
At this point Swanson doesn't have a clear cut favorite out of the six schools that have offered.
Swanson explained that he first caught the Red Raider coaching staff's attention at a camp in Lubbock earlier this summer.
"I've already been up to Tech. I went there for a camp this summer and saw the campus. It was a cool place."
During his visit to Lubbock, Travis had the opportunity to sit down and talk with offensive line coach Matt Moore.
"I liked Coach Moore a lot. He said that he thinks I would fit in well at Texas Tech. Coach Littrell is my recruiting coordinator, so I also talked to him."
As for adjusting to the scheme that the Red Raiders use for their offensive line, Travis isn't worried about the adjustment.
"I could adjust to [the offense] really easily. I think I would probably redshirt my first year and start getting playing time after that. I want to improve on my strength and speed, so that's what I've been working on and will continue to work on."
With all of the recent recruiting activity, Travis says that he hasn't come up with a top two or three yet, but he plans to do so soon.
"Right now it's all even, but I'm going to start narrowing things down soon. In the next month, I'll decide where I'm going to commit to."
What will be the main factors he will consider when making his decision?
"Oh, everything- the team, the school, the environment, the coaches. I'll take all of that into consideration."
