Lady Raiders Dominate Valparaiso 81-46

The Texas Tech Lady Raiders (2-1) continued their winning ways by defeating the Valparaiso Lady Crusaders. The Lady Raiders were able to give eleven players significant playing time on their way to the victory.

The Texas Tech Lady Raiders took an early 15-3 lead, and never looked back. The Valparaiso offense was shut down by Texas Tech's smothering pressure defense. Texas Tech dominated in the first half, taking a 44-20 lead into the half.

The Lady Raiders kept their intensity in the second half of the game. The lady Raiders showcased their depth by continuing to extend their lead with the bench players in the game. The Lady Raiders won by a score of 81-46.


Jia Perkins lied the Texas Tech offense with 18 points on 8 of 15 shooting. Natalie Ritchie had 11 points, and made 3 of 4 from behind the arc. Casey Jackson and Cisti Greenwalt both contributed 10 points. Point guard Erin Grant kept the offense running smooth. Grant had 10 assists in the game to bring keep her season average at 10 assists per game.


The Lady Raiders have been working hard on their defense since the Louisiana Tech game, and it shows. Holding any team to just 46 points is impressive. The Lady Raiders finished the game with 13 steals. Jia Perkins and Casey Jackson led Texas Tech with 3 steals. These steals helped fuel the Texas Tech transition game. Cisti Greenwalt had a game high 5 blocks to help solidify the Lady Raiders' interior defense.
