ESPN College Gameday Plans Finalized

Texas Tech and ESPN officials have finalized the details for this week's visit by ESPN College GameDay in what will be the first-ever appearance for the popular show on the Texas Tech University campus.

LUBBOCK, TX – ESPN College GameDay – Built by the Home Depot is coming to Lubbock for Saturday's showdown between No. 6/5 Texas Tech and No. 1 Texas at Jones AT&T Stadium. The game is set for 7 p.m. and is officially sold out but can be seen live nationally on ABC.

The ESPN College GameDay set will be constructed on the Engineering Key just north of Memorial Circle beginning on Thursday morning in order to prepare for live tapings that will begin on Friday afternoon. The first taping from the set will occur at 3:45 p.m. for the Friday evening SportsCenter. The actual show begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning and will conclude at 11 a.m. Fans are asked to arrive between 7-7:30 a.m. on Saturday morning for another SportsCenter segment at 7:45 a.m. just prior to the show.

The area around the set will be controlled by security and fans will not be able to get behind the stage for the tapings until 3:30 p.m. on Friday and then again at 7 a.m. on Saturday morning.
