"When I visited the campus this weekend, I felt like it was the right place to commit," Goetz explained. "Everyone was nice and it felt good to be at Texas Tech. There wasn't any one specific thing that clinched the decision for me, it was just the overall experience.
"The facilities there were top of the line," he continued. "There was nothing to complain about at all."
Despite the quick decision, Matt is 100% confident that Texas Tech is the right school for him. "I'm done with recruiting," he stated.
Matt, who currently measures in at 6'5", 280 lbs., says that he is confident that the Red Raiders' offensive style is a good fit for him.
"There will be a little adjustment for me in getting used to the way Texas Tech's offensive line plays, but I think with a little time I'll make the adjustments."
What specifically does Matt think he will bring to the table for the Red Raiders?
"My quickness and just my demeanor on the field are my greatest assets. I'm working on just trying to get stronger every day."
With his commitment out of the way, Matt is already making plans for the upcoming season.
"After talking with Coach Moore, I will play center or guard. I'm also definitely going to redshirt my freshman year.
"I'm planning on getting to Lubbock in time for summer work outs. I think the day I'm moving in is set around May 8th."
