Sasser Preparing for Big Summer

Denton Ryan WR Bud Sasser is one of Texas Tech's top wide out targets for the class of 2010. With his teammate Scotty Young already committed to be the Red Raiders' quarterback for the class, the Texas Tech coaches are hoping they can pull in another commit from the hotbed of talent in Denton.

After a great season in 2008, when he racked up 1,250 yards and 24 touchdowns, Denton Ryan WR Bud Sasser caught the eye of some big name schools, including Oklahoma, Missouri, Texas Tech, Kansas, and Nebraska. recently caught up with Sasser, who says that he is taking his time with recruiting and trying to learn more about his suitors.

"Recruiting is going pretty good. I just got an offer from Purdue last week, which totals up to seven offers."

Sasser visited Lubbock for the Red Raiders' spring game, and he left convinced that the offensive system would be a great fit for him.

"It was pretty nice out there. I got to hang out with some of the receivers for most of the weekend. I'm pretty sure I'll fit in well since we run the spread offense at my school too."

After taking his first unofficial visit, has Bud started narrowing down his list?

"No, I'm still waiting until I see more schools. I'm going to visit Kansas next, but I'm not sure when."

The talented receiver, who is now up to seven offers, says he's in no rush to commit.

"I have to visit some schools before I make a decision. I don't want to make a decision and then have to change it later."

It should be a busy summer for Bud as he takes visits and narrows down his list.

"Hopefully by mid-summer or earlier I will have a final decision made."
