In a word, yes.
"I like Texas Tech a lot," Corker said. "I am looking to commit to Texas Tech probably within the next week or two."
The Red Raiders' high flying aerial attack has the talented wide out psyched for the opportunity to put up big numbers and make a name for himself in the Big 12.
"Number one, their offense is amazing. It's a wide receiver's paradise. I also really like to the coaches. I talk to coaches twice a week probably and they're showing me a lot of love.
"I'm a player loves that to go get the ball. If I can get the ball in my hands, anything is bound to happen. And with how much they throw the ball at Texas Tech, there will be lots of opportunities to make good things happen. So it's a great situation for me and for Tech."
Shawn also loves the atmosphere at Texas Tech, and said that his visit to Lubbock over spring break left him pleasantly surprised.
"I really like Texas Tech when I visited. It was a lot better than I thought it would be. People kept telling me that there would be nothing there but tumbleweeds in Texas, but I loved it up there. The campus was really nice, and the football facilities, where I'll be spending most of my time, were top of the line."
The relationships Shawn has formed with the Red Raider coaching staff and team also factor in to his decision.
"Coach Lincoln and Coach Simmons are my recruiters. We have a real good relationship. They make me feel as if I'm already part of the team, and they make me excited to get out there and start playing.
"Tech is just showing me a lot of love, and I feel like that's the best fit for me. I've talked to some of the players on the team, and I feel very comfortable there. I've been talking to Detron [Lewis] a lot, and I feel like I want to already be there and be helping him out."
Corker followed former Texas Tech superstar Michael Crabtree's college career closely, and he hopes to emulate his success on the field.
"[Crabtree's] a very physical player, and I try to play really physical too. The way he goes after the ball, how he blocks, and gets yards after the play, I feel like those are things I excel at as well. I mean, everyone brings something new to the table, and I feel like I can shine in Tech's offense. On the field, I just play hard every down and play to best of my abilities. I put in a lot of time and work into what I do."
With the deal close to being sealed, Corker is excited for his next visit to the South Plains.
"I've already set up my visit for the Oklahoma game on November 21st."
And are there any other schools still on Shawn's radar?
"Texas Tech is pretty far ahead of everyone else, but the other schools I like are Wake Forest, Florida, and Miami."
