Despite previous reports that he was a lock for the Longhorns, Darius says that the race between his top six schools is fairly even.
"I'm pretty open right now," Darius said. "The schools I have the most interest in are OU, Texas, Texas Tech, OSU, Florida, and USC, but none of those are a heavy favorite right now."
The Red Raider coaching staff has been the key for keeping Texas Tech in the mix. Darius says he would love to play for Mike Leach and company and trusts them implicitly.
"I really like the coaches up there. I know they're good coaches, and they're up front and honest about everything. I feel like Texas Tech would be a good place for me to play."
The Red Raider's high profile offense and reputation for getting the ball in their wide receivers' hands also factors into White's decision.
"I like their offense and the way they play. It's pretty much the same kind of offense I'm in now. I think if I went to Tech I could do some big things and make a lot of big plays."
Darius says that the coaching staff in Lubbock sees him as a great fit for their offensive style, which is why they have showed so much interest.
"I think the coaches were impressed with my God-given talent and the just the way I play."
He also said the coaching staff keeps in contact with him, but because he is hard to get a hold of on the phone, most of their correspondence has been by mail.
"I get letters from Texas Tech now and then, but I just don't talk much on the phone."
So what's the next step for Darius? He says that he wants to become more familiar with the coaches and program and hopes to visit the South Plains before football season starts.
"I really haven't gotten to go up there, but my parents and I are going to try to visit this summer. I don't have a date set up yet."
