Update with Ryan WR Bud Sasser

Denton Ryan wide receiver Bud Sasser had many Red Raider fans chomping at the bit after witnessing his outstanding performance against Guyer on Thursday. Sasser had 94 yards and two touchdowns in the victory and showcased his athleticism and route running abilitiy. RaiderPower.com caught up with Sasser to find out the latest on his recruitment status and if he is considering the Red Raiders.

Denton Ryan wide receiver Bud Sasser has had a spectacular senior season and is one of the primary reasons the Raiders were able to clench a share of the District 5-4A title this past weekend. As Texas Tech quarterback commit Scotty Young's favorite receiver, Bud has been very productive for Ryan and is a big part of their success.

Sasser, who has 17 touchdowns on the season, is averaging 85 yards per game and almost 17 yards per catch.

RaiderPower.com talked with Sasser about his season and where he stands recruiting wise.

"Nothing much has changed [on the recruiting front]," Sasser told us. "I'm still looking at Kansas and Missouri, and those two are high on my list right now."

With two big-time wide receiver commits in Florida natives Kadron Boone and Shawn Corker, the Red Raider coaching staff seems to be more focused on recruiting other positions at this point, but Sasser still holds an offer from Texas Tech.

He says, however, that he hasn't heard from the Red Raiders in recent months.

Is Texas Tech a significant consideration at this point for Sasser?

"Not at the moment, but I have started to reconsider them because I thought it could be a good place to go to school."

He has visited Lubbock previously and says that he is undecided on taking an official visit.

"I went to [Tech's] spring game. I'm not sure about taking an official visit yet."

If Tech does reemerge as a major contender for Sasser, he feels confident in his abilities to play in their high powered spread offense.

"Their offense is very similar to [the offense Ryan runs], so I like that about Tech. I'm pretty sure I would fit well with Tech's offense since it's not too much different from the offense I've been in all through high school."

For now, Sasser is concentrating mainly on his two favorites from his list of offers, which includes Arizona, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Tulsa, and Texas Tech.

"I have set up dates to visit Kansas and Missouri the first and third weekends in December."
