Jacob Karam's Number is Called

Jacob Karam QB (Fr-RS) is excited about his opportunity to run the offense. Injuries are a part of the game and he's poised to step in to the position and take the reins. Raiderpower has an exclusive interview and comments.

Four Star QB (Scout.com) Jacob Karam was known as a cool operator of his Friendswood High School football offense. Now, he's got a chance to showcase his abilities on a slightly larger stage.

Until just one week ago, all the anticipation of Texas Tech spring practice at the QB position was on watching Steven Sheffield and Taylor Potts battle it out. With injuries sidelining both of the them ... (broken foot/Sheffield and hand injury requiring surgery/Potts) ... the attention and reps have turned to Seth Doege (So-1L) and Jacob Karam (Fr-RS).

Karam (6-1 205) had solid numbers his senior year at Friendswood HS ... throwing for 3,291 yards and 38 TDs. He was voted District 24-4A Most Valuable Player and a first-team selection. With 4.55 40 speed, he can also move outside the pocket when needed. Athletic abilities aside, word is he's also a pretty decent pianist and has been playing since kindergarden.

Raiderpower was able to catch up with Jacob Karam after practice and got a few comments and his take on the recent events.
