Morning Raider - 8/2

One Texas Tech recruit liked what he saw last month when he visited the Hub City and attended football camp. Just how much did he like it? Well, he brought mom back this time.

Texas Tech had a couple of visitors the last two days, a main one being RB/ATH Deandre Washington (Missouri City, TX). Washington is leaving Lubbock today after spending yesterday and this morning visiting the campus and taking a "hard look" as he called it at Tech.

Washington (5-8, 175) currently has Boise State, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech as his top three schools.

He rushed for more than 700 yards and eight touchdowns last season for Marshall HS and said there are plenty of things Tech would like to do with him.

"I just like what the Texas Tech coaches want to do with me," he said. "Basically, they just want to get me the ball. Wildcat, running back, slot wide receiver and on special teams, just everywhere. And everybody knows how coach Tommy Tuberville can use a running back and that makes me ecstatic."

He visited the campus for football camp but wanted to take a follow-up visit so his mom could see the campus.

"She has not got the chance to see the school and the program and I want her to see it before I make my decision," Washington said in an interview with Scout.com.

The way I see it, you don't introduce mom to the girlfriend unless you really like her.

More on Washington and his thoughts later today.
