Another One Out?

Sources have indicated that wide receivers coach Bobby Kennedy will be leaving the Texas staff.

Kennedy is regarded as one of the staff's top recruiters, though his 2010 wide receiver group often received criticism for their inability to get open and block downfield in the absence of departed All-American Jordan Shipley.

Multiple recruits also confirmed that they heard Kennedy was leaving the staff, with one stating that he heard Kennedy had already told members of the team about his departure.

Kennedy has served at Texas for seven seasons, and has been the team's assistant recruiting coordinator since 2005. His group typically included at least one high-level receiver, from Limas Sweed to Quan Cosby and Jordan Shipley. All three achieved All-Big 12 status, with Cosby and Shipley combining for a stellar 2008 where they both caught 85 passes and topped the 1,000-yard mark. Cosby was a Biletnikoff semifinalist in 2008, while Shipley was a first-team All-American and a finalist in 2009.

Kennedy's departure would make two from the 2010 offensive coaching staff — sources said earlier this week that offensive coordinator Greg Davis would be leaving coaching behind, likely to take an administrative position in the athletics department.
