It was the Carmelo Anthony show in New Orleans on Saturday night as the Syracuse freshman lit up the Horns for 33 points.

Carmelo Anthony goes up for two of his game-high 33 points. Texas tried to use different defenders and defensive schemes against Anthony, but nothing really worked.

Brad Buckman hits a tough shot late in the first half. Buckman was 6-6 from the field and also had seven rebounds.

Brian Boddicker and the rest of the Texas bench react as the Horns make a run early in the second half to take the lead.

Royal Ivey hit this shot to end the first half and bring Texas to within three points of Syracuse. It was his only basket of the game as he went 1-8 from the field.

Brandon Mouton slashes for two of his 25 points. Mouton had a huge first half, hitting from three point range and on drives to the basket to keep Texas within striking distance of the Orangemen.

A weary James Thomas steps to the foul line. Thomas was a very shaky 5-11 from the charity stripe on Saturday, missing several key free throws in the second half.

Royal Ivey tries to harass Carmelo Anthony in the second half. Ivey said that Anthony was the toughest player he has had to defend during his career at Texas.

T.J. Ford looks for a gap in the Syracuse defense. Ford led all players with 13 assists and was one of five Texas players in double figures with 12 points on the night.

A disappointed Brad Buckman heads to the bench after fouling out of the game. Buckman probably had his best game of the year on Saturday.
