Mad Dog Out?

A university Web site has a clue toward the fate of Texas's strength and conditioning coach.

That Jeff "Mad Dog" Madden won't be returning as the Texas strength and conditioning coach isn't a surprise.

What is a surprise, however, is that his job was posted on the following university website: http://utdirect.utexas.edu/pnjobs/pnjobsvw.WBX?job_nbr=11-01-03-01-0806 before the university made any sort of announcement about Madden's fate.

Madden was long thought to be a long shot to return after a tough 2010 season that saw the Longhorns go 5-7. It wasn't so much the losses as the way the Longhorns lost. They were bullied by lesser teams like UCLA and Kansas State and failed to assert their will in the running game.

Madden's departure means that the Longhorns have three coaching openings available: offensive coordinator, offensive line and strength and conditioning coach. The Longhorns filled two vacancies in the past two days.
