With offers from all over the country, Edwards has been adamant that he will be making a decision at next year's Under Armor or Army game.
With Texas traditionally looking for commitments on junior day, the Longhorns will more than likely have to wait. That is, if Edwards goes to Texas' junior day.
"I did get invited to their junior day. I'm not sure yet if I'm coming to be able to go to Austin," said Edwards. "I have to check with my dad and see if it fits with his schedule.
"The plan right now is to narrow it down during mid season or close to the end of the season. I'm doing that because I want to see how many schools are really interested in me."
Rumors started to circulate last week that the junior was close to committing to Florida State. His father, Mario Sr. was a cornerback with the Seminoles. But, the younger Edwards immediately squashed those rumors with Scout.com's Mark Marion.
"That's not the truth at all. I'm not going to commit anywhere until after my senior season," said Edwards. "They may have a little more (edge) than other schools, but at the end of the day my dad is going to let me sit down and make my own decision about where I'm going to play my college ball."
