1.) Johnathan Gray - Aledo HS – RB
I think Gray is the Boise State" offensive system.
While it's been rumored at times he is a SEC lean, we are hearing he is leaning to Texas. This almost seems like one the Longhorns can't mess up, even if immediate playing time might be limited with Texas having two soon to be sophomore wide receivers on the outside in Mike Davis and Darius White.
Edwards might be my state's top player, but he is 1B and could be a Top Five player in the country.
As talented freshman Jackson Jeffcoat showed up this season, there is playing time to be had at the defensive end position for talented freshman.
Edward's speed and defensive awareness just always seems to put him around the ball.
We said we were throwing out lean and Texas seems to be behind on this one at this point. He still has yet to confirm a junior day visit and rumors are the 6-foot-4, 240 pound is favoring Florida State. It makes sense, he is the son of former retired NFL player and Florida State alum Mario Edwards Sr.
Texas has a chance to land all three, but landing two out of three seems to be more realistic.
At this point, I'm going to say Jonathan Gray should be the top target for the Longhorns. If Texas' gets an early commitment from Spring DeKaney back Trey Williams (all indications are the Longhorns will offer), Gray might look elsewhere. At that point, the backfield might be to crowded for him.
