Boyette Has Big Plans For Texas Junior Day

As always, Texas junior day is expected to be filled with player committing. One player who sounds ready is Humble defensive tackle Paul Boyette, who talked with about his plans.

Humble HS (TX) defensive tackle Paul Boyette doesn't have a favorite among the schools that have offered. They are pretty much equal in his book, but it's the one school that hasn't offered that is sticking out for the junior.

"I would say that Texas has been a dream school for me," said Boyette to "If they offered me, I would commit there. I would. It's always been my dream.

"The academics are great, the coaching staff is great, the program is great, and it's a really nice family atmosphere. It's a home away from home with nice facilities. It's just perfect."

Boyette is thought to be one of the favorites at the defensive tackle position ready to score a Texas offer on junior day.

"Right now, I have offers from Alabama, Texas A&M, Notre Dame, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Kansas State, Florida State, and Baylor. That is about it right now, but I'm probably going to get some more really soon.

"Out of those schools, I'm not really leaning to a certain one or anything. They are all about equal."

Boyette who finished with five sacks last year, is 6-foot-4, 280 pounds. This offseason, he is working on his pass rush, to not only have a standout senior season, but to further his game for the next level.

"I need to be more relentless and not give up as much as I do," said Boyette. "Right now, I would say that I'm a better at run stopping, but I'm good on the pass rush as well. It's just something I need to work on."
