On the trip, the versatile wide receiver recruit received an offer from the Longhorns to go with his earlier offers from A&M, TCU and Baylor.
"I was happy about that," Wheeler said. "I just want some time to weigh my options and see what I like. I could decide soon, but I don't know how soon."
The Crockett native said he was looking for a well-balanced school with strong athletic and academic programs, as well as a place where he felt comfortable with the coaches. And he said he wanted to stay in Texas or close to home if he could.
Wheeler, who has no deadline for his decision, is set to visit Baylor next Sunday.
