"As the season progressed, I could tell that the offense was becoming more natural for me. Reactions were quicker and I ended up throwing better balls," said Feist. "I'm so excited for next year. I have a year of varsity football under my belt and I'm ready to compete for a playoff spot."
Behind 21 touchdowns to just six interceptions, the Lobos finished the year 5-5 with Feist at the helm. Now they are ready to make a deep playoff run in 2011.
While colleges are not able to contact him in until September 1st of junior year, he has been taking in questionnaires from multiple schools.
"I hope to hear from some schools during the season, but my main focus will be on our season and winning games," said Feist. "College wise I will be looking at - coaching staffs, school reputation, both academically and athletically, and a successful football program.
While many quarterbacks would be satisfied with the numbers Feist put up last season, the soon to be junior knows there is plenty to work on this off-season and spring.
"I am focusing on fine tuning my mechanics, front knee flexion, high release, hip fire, foot work, keeping my left arm tight, etc. I'm also learning even more about running our offense and weak spots in defenses," said Feist.
"I would say that I am a hard-working, determined, and smart quarterback. I think I stand out as a leader both verbally and through my actions on and off the football field. You will never find me slacking, and I think great attitude and effort are two things that put me above and beyond other competition."
