"When Nebraska called they asked: 'Coach, do we have a chance?'" Coker explained. "And at least another 5-6 people have done that."
Well, you can now add Oklahoma to the list of schools who've offered the pass-rushing demon giving him a total of 19 offers.
"Everybody who comes by here to check him out thinks he's one of the top defensive ends in the state, some have even said he's the best they've seen," Coker said.
"'He's unblockable!', came straight from (LSU head coach) Nick Saban," a giddy Coker exclaimed.
Stacey Dean: Coach, we have him at 4.7/4.75 in the 40. The last time you tested him, what did he run?
Mike Coker: Well, he ran the forty four consecutive times. He clocked a 4.74, 4.78, 4.81, 4.80. So, you guys are pretty close.
"I'm going to the Texas camp and LSU's summer camp," the sack-mad defensive end from Galena Park told TheInsiders.com.
Commitment timeframe: "I'm not going to make an early decision," Johnson said. "After I take all of my official visits, I should know a lot more about each school and then I can make a good decision."
Folks, this one appears to definitely be heading to the "official visit" stage and the five he currently lists as the faves to garner his verbal (LSU, Texas A&M, Texas, Texas Tech and Oklahoma State) are the exact same five he gave us over a couple of months ago. That's got to make those five schools feel especially lucky, but keep an eye on Oklahoma as they aim to grab one of Johnson's precious officials.
