Tatum's Jalen Overstreet said he originally thought he was going to visit Texas for the Texas Tech game this weekend because he had a conflict this past weekend. But he was able to make it for the Kansas game instead, and he left campus with an offer.
Overstreet was recruited by the Longhorns as a defensive back in the spring, only to see his contact with Texas drop off. But with the transfers of Garrett Gilbert and Connor Wood, the Longhorns found themselves in a different spot at the quarterback position, and Texas offensive coordinator Bryan Harsin called Overstreet a few weeks ago to gauge his interest before traveling out to watch Overstreet play in person.
As arguably the top uncommitted quarterback in the Lone Star State, Overstreet had quarterback offers from Baylor, Texas Tech and Kansas, and overall offers from Arkansas, Michigan and Missouri for other positions, from wide receiver to safety.
