"We picked then because it's a good time for my mom to get down there and meet other players, their parents and the coaches," Davis said. "It's a good chance everybody else will be around."
Davis has said that the No. 1 thing that he's looking for is a place that feels like a second family. He already visited Texas unofficially for the Oklahoma State game. So far, the Longhorns are the first of his three scheduled official visits.
Davis has a list of four schools that he's considering, and he'll be at Tuscaloosa, Ala. this weekend on an unofficial visit when two of them square off. Like many top prospects, Davis will be in town to catch the Alabama-LSU game.
He also has plans to visit Alabama officially the week after he returns from the U.S. Army All-America Game. He will visit LSU officially the week after that. Davis has not yet set up an official visit to the fourth team on his list, Oklahoma, but is in the process of doing so.
