Texas gets No. 14

Rashad Bobino is an ILB/OLB prospect from La Marque and goes about 5-10.5, 195, 4.65. He attended the Texas June 1st mini-camp and was hoping to earn a scholarship from the Burnt Orange. Folks, he did just that. And more.

Bobino owned a single scholarhsip offer from TCU, but the news of his interest in the Longhorns scared off many potential suitors and the kid with a heart the size of Texas expected the recruiting process to really heat up if he left the Forty Acres without an offer.

"After the Sunday camp," Bobino informed, "Mack Brown told my mother, father, aunt, girlfriend and coach that they wanted me as a linebacker. He said they were either going to take another DE or another LB,and I'm just glad they took me."

"It was a really touching scene as my coach even started crying," an extremely excited Bobino said.

"Everything at Texas is so first class and I'm all about that," Bobino continued. "They wine and dine their players and just have a history of treating you right as a person. Plus, playing in front of 84,000 people is something I wanted to do, too. I'm just glad to say that I'm going to be a Longhorn. Hook'em everybody!"

In addition to the 168 tackles -- 58 of those, solo -- the La Marque 'backer notched 7 sacks, 4 PBUs, 4 FFs and 1 FR as a junior.

Lake Highlands LB Jeremy Campbell -- who owns a 'ship offer from UT -- is probably the last of the linebacking targets as the limited number of 'ships available will force Mack and Co. to begin looking at other key positions.

And the beat goes on...
