Even better: Tyrone Swoopes is a quarterback. A multi-talented quarterback. Somebody who combines great size at 6-foot-5 and 220 pounds, a rocket arm and a sub-4.6-second 40-yard dash.
Swoopes called it for Texas less than a week after attending Junior Day I in Austin, an experience he said he enjoyed.
"I committed to Texas," Swoopes told Scout.com's Erin Hartigan. "I felt it was the right choice at the right time."
As a junior, Swoopes rushed for 2,267 yards and 29 touchdowns, averaging 13.3 yards per carry. He also passed for almost 1,400 yards and 15 touchdowns.
Swoopes represents the fourth commitment in the Texas class, and the third in the past week. All three of those commitments were JD1 attendees.
